Discover Greenwood
Greenwood is one of Jackson County's historic communities, and its built environment offers a way to explore local stories beyond the county seat. The county tourism authority describes a self-guided driving route through historic districts in Greenwood and Marianna, with homes, churches, landmarks and businesses that reflect different periods and the people who shaped them.
More about Greenwood
The route is a regional heritage resource rather than a single museum visit. Buildings have different owners and access arrangements, so a tour listing does not mean every site is open to enter. Use the current guide and respect posted restrictions.
Greenwood's place in Jackson County also illustrates how small municipalities preserve their own civic identity within a larger rural county. The history of the region is visible through architecture and institutions as well as through roads, farms and springs. This profile points visitors toward documented heritage without promising current hours or access to privately owned properties.
